La première séance de IF Screenings du 23 janvier 2019 avec une sélection de court métrages issus des cinq pays nordiques.

En 2019, l’Institut finlandais propose un programme de courts, moyens et longs métrages issus de toutes les scènes nordiques, en attanchant une importance particulière au cinéma expérimental. Dans ce cadre, nous organiserons régulièrement des conférences animées par des professionnels du milieu cinématographique. Les projections IF Screenings se tiennent dans l’auditorium souterrain de 60 places aux multiples détails architecturaux conçu par Juhani Pallasmaa, ou dans l’enceinte des cinémas partenaires.

On a winter evening, Dad returns home drunk. Tiger is in his room and Mom is sleeping on the couch. A quarrel breaks out. Dad has a shotgun. Tiger and Mom escape the house. Haunting silence falls. Tiger must return inside to see what has happened - and to take the first steps towards independence.

Six animals meet at the swimming pool. The horse, the manager of the pool, is a dedicated, conscientious friend of order. Over the years the premises have become her whole world. Two wolves come to the pool to bathe. Their relationship is hard to define but one wolf constantly wields power over the other. Three mice also visit the pool, but they have a different agenda altogether.

Maja, a six-year-old Serbian girl, gets dropped off at kindergarten by her parents. The family has not been in Denmark long and everything is new to them, especially the language. Maja finds it difficult to interact with the other kids. After a long and lonesome day full of misunderstandings, her parents come to pick her up. But the day is not about to come to an end – it's just about to start.
